Senator Karen Peterson…“In working with Gene, it’s easy to see why he would make a great Insurance Commissioner. He not only has an excellent grasp of the issues, but he understands how important it is that Delawareans have someone as Commissioner who will defend their interests.”

Representative Melanie George Marshall...“The people of Delaware deserve to have an Insurance Commissioner who understands the complexities of the insurance industry. Gene has a history of defending the interests of Delawareans regarding insurance issues, and we need someone we can trust will do a great job in that important position.”

Senator David McBride...“I’ve known Gene for more than twenty years and have the greatest confidence that he will make a very effective Insurance Commissioner for the State of Delaware. I’ve seen first-hand Gene’s work to make sure Delawareans are fairly represented in insurance disputes.”

Senator Margaret Rose Henry…“There are too many un-insured and under-insured Delawareans. For us to ever make a difference to those struggling to get insurance, we need a Commissioner who knows what it takes to get the job done. I believe Gene Reed is that person.”

City Councilman Sam Prado, Wilmington…“I decided to drop out of the Insurance Commissioner's Race and support Gene Reed because I realized that he has the experience and knowledge to lead this important office. This Insurance Commissioner is probably going to be the most important office in the state after the Governor. We need someone with Gene’s experience to make sure the right decisions are made for the people of Delaware. We need someone who will protect consumer rights while also encouraging business and competition in Delaware. I believe that Gene can balance these interests and make sure insurance is affordable and available to all of our citizens. Gene is the right man for the job and I will be pulling the lever for him in September and November.”

City Councilman Kevin Kelley, Wilmington…“Gene Reed consistently comes through for our Wilmington constituents and is the best candidate for Insurance Commissioner and has my full support.”

Mayor Joe Conaway, Bridgeville

Dear Gene,

It is with great pleasure that I offer my endorsement to you as the Democrat candidate for Insurance Commissioner of the State of Delaware. I served as the Chief Deputy Insurance Commissioner for Delaware from January of 1987 until February of 1989. During that tenure, you were hired and immediately began to truly represent the people of Delaware in an outstanding manner. After twenty-three years in the Department, not only have you served the people of Delaware well but your efforts have been recognized nationally.

Moreover, no one in my thirty-five years in politics has come to this position with the skills, dedication and integrity that you possess. Delaware and its people will be well served when we elect a truly professional individual to this position. I am pleased to offer my support.

Yours truly,

Mayor Joe Conaway

Former Chief Deputy Insurance Commissioner

Former Sussex County Administrator

President of the Bridgeville Town Commission
