Gene formally announced his candidacy for Insurance Commissioner at Legislative Hall in Dover at 11:30 a.m. on June 19, 2008. The Honorable State Senator Karen Peterson gave a wonderful speech when she introduced Gene. You can catch the video of the announcement in the MEDIA section on this website. There was a really nice turnout for his announcement and Gene is very grateful for the support. Following his announcement, supporters gathered with Gene later that day to celebrate in Kent County at Persimmontree Lane in Dover, where everyone enjoyed some great brick-oven baked pizza.
For a New Castle County celebration, many more supporters enjoyed a birthday celebration at a beef and beer bash with Gene at the DAP in Wilmington on Friday, June 20. Then, on to Sussex County where “fired-up” supporters joined Gene for another beef and beer celebration at the Milton VFW Post 6984 on June 28th.
